IWG Chair Gerdi Breembroek highlighted the key priorities of the revised implementation working plan, and its relevance for the challenges which Europe is facing

At the last SET Plan Steering Group meeting on Thursday 12 September 2024, the Geothermal IWG presented its progress and highlights. IWG Chair Gerdi Breembroek highlighted the key priorities of the revised implementation working plan, and its relevance for the challenges which Europe is facing. Co-chair David Bruhn then addressed the relevance and potential of thermal energy storage for the energy transition in particular. The Geothermal IWG considers it important to talk about geothermal energy at this important forum, where representatives from all EU Member States and Associated Countries discuss energy research and innovation at a strategic level.
